The beaches of the Algarve get less busy the further West you travel – the ‘secret’ beach pictured above is just twenty minutes away (with a ten minute walk down a windy path) – this picture was taken in August! If you book the house we might just tell you where it is!
For those wanting a bit more of a buzz, restaurants and water sports, Meia Praia, Porto do Mos, Praia da Luz, Burgau and Salema are all great beaches within ten to thirty minutes.
45 minutes drive and you can reach the Western Coast of Portugal, famed for its big waves and an easy day trip for surfing and boogie boarding.
Our position at Cruz de Pedra is fantastic. The house is down a track so is very quiet, even in peak season, but a short drive and you can be in the town of Lagos with great shopping, restaurants, street entertainers and bars. Here you can organise boat trips for dolphin watching, fishing and cave visits.
We’ve spent 15 years ‘working’ hard at researching all the best places to go, things to do and places to eat and drink so please just ask us if you would like any recommendations. Between us we’ve also been in the area as young singles, parents of babies, toddlers, children and teens AND as Grandparents so we’ve got it covered.
If you want to do a twin centre holiday and mix it up, Lisbon is a wonderful city and is a three hour drive and easy to get to by train. You can easily fly into Faro and out of Lisbon (or vice versa).
