Andrew, Carmen and Family: “We had the most wonderful and relaxing week’s stay in August 2019. It really is a home from home, I have never been in a more well equipped holiday rental kitchen! The Villa is spacious and airy as well as having more intimate areas for a quiet read. However it is the outside space that really has the wow factor. The mature garden would easily rub shoulders with the best at the Chelsea Flower Show! Each area has been carefully thought through, whether it be sun loungers in a secluded spot under palm trees or seating for two for that quiet morning coffee. You are spoilt for choice as to where to enjoy your sundowner of an evening, you can even pick some fresh mint for your Mohito straight out of the herb garden! The large pool is perfect for families of all ages. With a large BBQ and outside dining area we easily catered for 9. There are fully stocked supermarkets just a few minutes drive away, with the town centre and a large selection of restaurants a 10 minute drive. The villa is well positioned in the Algarve to explore the wonderful beaches the area has to offer, although you may not want to leave the peace and tranquility once you’ve arrived!”

Julian: “Thank you for a wonderful stay in Lagos! Our extended family (6 adults and 4 kids) comfortably stayed in Stephen’s home for a week. The house is very spacious and has all the amenities you need. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well done and comfortable and the living area is great. The true star of the property though is the garden and the pool. The pictures don’t do the grounds justice. It’s a true little oasis where we spent countless hours lounging and playing in the sizeable pool. We also used the outdoor grill on a daily basis and had long and relaxing family lunches and dinners on the patio. When not in the house it’s an easy 10 minute drive to the centre of Lagos or to a number of gorgeous beaches along the Algarve coast. The house is also well situated for a day trip to the Atlantic west coast with its stellar cliffs and beaches. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a secluded place to enjoy time with a group of friends or family.”

Ruth:”What a fantastic place and garden. This is the best holiday place we ever stayed! We were three couples and a 2 and 4 year old. The villa is wonderfully spacious, so well equipped with everything you could possibly want, for adults and for babies till teenagers. The pool is great as is the pond with the terrapin and frogs. I particularly loved the palm trees, bushes and plants giving the shade in the heat. The kitchen is so well equipped with more than enough plates, bowls, cups, etc. (most unusual!). We had a BBQ every evening outside around the massive big table, just great! The bedrooms are spacious, the bathrooms large, plenty of shelves for our little bits and bobs. Also plenty of towels. The maid is very friendly and happy. She does a good job looking after the villa. Well, just a brilliant place. Will definitely recommend!”

Tore: “Our family enjoyed a fantastic week in Portugal! Your fabulous “Garden of Eden” was just wonderful for all three generations. The house was roomy and functioned perfectly in all respects. Weather and temperature were just right for us, and we enjoyed restaurants, takeaways, local shopping, a little sightseeing, as well as surfing on one of the western beaches. A nice tan was acquired. The maid did a marvellous job. We have already recommended the property to friends!”

Lisa:”I had high hopes for this property from looking at the photographs here – and they were completely exceeded! As you twist and turn down the dusty dirt roads you could never imagine what lies behind the gate; a real oasis, it felt like a little bit of the Caribbean. Palm trees and winding cobbled paths, soft grass underfoot, a pond full of terrapins, lots of shady nooks and crannies and that beautiful pale blue swimming pool at the heart of it! It was like having a tiny five star resort all to ourselves! The house was perfect too; open plan, well furnished and cool in spite of 30+ degrees. We were four adults, two teenage girls, one nine year old girl and a teenage couple who had the luxury of the separate detached cottage all to themselves (often the ‘annexe’ or ‘studio’ accommodation in rental villas is not as nice as in the main house – this was absolutely not the case here, the cottage is very high quality indeed). There are three bedrooms on the ground level, all spaced far enough apart for no noise to carry at all, and another gigantic bedroom upstairs with a full width terrace overlooking the tropical gardens.

The house had everything we could ask for; kitchen basics, pool towels, games, citronella candles, a library of books, guide books, enough cutlery and crockery for twice as many people as the house holds.Everything was clean and fresh, a testament to the time and care that housekeeper takes during her end of stay clean and twice weekly visits.

We rent a big villa every summer and this is by far the best and probably the first one that I would want to return to. Just magical and perfect, a little slice of paradise.”

Anoma: “This really is a wonderful villa. We were a group of 6 adults (3 couples), a 2 year old, 14 month and 8 month old and there was more than enough space for all of us (including one bedroom we didnt use). It is about 1hr 15 min drive from Faro airport. Very close (10min drive) to local supermarket and health club where you can go to spa, play tennis golf etc which we used. Also v close the the beach.

The house is beautiful and has all amenities you would need. Perfect for those with children – things like travel cots, mattresses, kids swim/beach stuff and eating utensils are all there so you can forget about it and have fun. The gardens and pool – well wow! We loved this property so much we will definitely come here again. The owner is also a pleasure to deal with and a very nice man, accomodating of our requests. The maid came twice a week and the garden and pool was also well tended to.

Rhona:”We recently booked the villa for a week and held our wedding there which was a very small intimate affair – everybody was in awe at the sheer beauty of the surroundings and commented on the natural beauty of the gardens.The villa has everything you could possibly need and feels like a home away from home (if your home is a luxury villa lol) If you like character and charm this is definitely right for you. The maid julia was excellent and although has no english she makes herself understood if needed,she whizzed about without being intrusive, also Emma the villa manager was only a phone call away and was so helpful. I dealt with the owner Stephen via email and found him to be very helpful. Initially the track can put you off as it feels like you are going into an isolated area and also the road getting slightly rougher terrain – however its completely worth it once you reach the villa. There are other villas around so you are not isolated but you do indeed feel like you are as nobody is overlooking you at all as the garden makes it so secluded. The wifi was perfect and also the satellite tv was indeed all our usual sky package channels including sports and movies although it was only watched for the odd match as the euros were on during our stay. Myself and my new husband plus my parents, my sister and partner and 3 kids stayed in the villa and I would recommend it to anybody holidaying with their inlaws as their is a separate little cottage on the same property (where my parents stayed) so for grandparents to have a little space of their own this is fantastic. Although not an issue for us I can imagine some inlaws would be happy to not be on top of one other all the time so this little cottage is ideal. Their is table tennis, lots of kids pool toys which we also added too…Im sure most people leave things behind. There is also the necessities such as salt, sugar, teabags – all there on arrival. I cant tell you how peaceful and beautiful this villa is so just go there and see for yourself. We had an amazing time and as the setting for our garden style wedding it holds wonderful memories – im hoping to return to celebrate many anniversaries to come…..”
